For the Maple Caramel Sauce:

.1 cup granulated sugar
.1/4 cup water
.1/2 cup heavy cream
.1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
.1/4 cup pure maple syrupPinch of salt


For the Frosting:

.8 oz cream cheese, softened
.1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
.3 cups powdered sugar1/4 cup .maple syrup
.1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Prepare the Cake Batter:

.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

.In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.

2. Make the Maple Caramel Sauce:
